Home Maintenance Training Program

This program teaches home repair and safety principles and is free of charge to participants. Classes are scheduled twice each year in the Spring and Fall and are held at the SJCS office. The class is held weekly for 10 weeks.

This program is designed to acquaint participants with most of the physical issues that arise from owning and maintaining a property. After learning about safety tips, how to handle a home emergency, and how to use home repair tools, the class covers:   

- Roofing & siding

- Windows & doors

- Walls, floors & stairs

- The plumbing system

- Maintenance of major appliances

- The electrical system

- Heating & cooling systems

- Year-round maintenance

Each participant receives a Review Manual free of charge, which helps guide participants as they put their training into practice at home. Upon completing the course, each participant also receives a free tool box and set of tools to use for home repairs.
