Campbell Soup Homeowner Academy

The Campbell Soup Homeowner Academy is designed to provide first-time homeowners the necessary skills to succeed in the transition from renter to owner. This program teaches families the basics of financial management and of the mortgage process, as well as the responsibilities that come with owning a home.

The Homeowner Academy is mandatory for all SJCS homebuyers. More than 6,700 people have taken a course at the Academy since its creation in 1993, and more than 2,700 of these individuals completed the full program.

The twelve-week program is divided into two courses that each last 6 weeks: Basics of Money Management and Homeowner Education. The Academy is directed by certified counselors and offers bilingual housing education and support services to Camden residents. The staff offers credit counseling to those Academy participants who need it and long-term money management support after home purchase.

To sign up for an SJCS education program or to learn more, please contact James Roche at jroche@sjcscamden.org, call us at (856) 966-8117, or visit our office.
