| Academy Evaluation | |||
|
The Academy steers away from formalized tests but does encourage Section reviews by either the Instructor or the Leader. Such reviews reduce the material presented, the discussions and questions, to a concise process or to key elements which the participants need to remember. It is important to note that the goal of any review is to direct teaching efforts, not to rank the participants. The leader uses this information to direct future presentations of that class. Most affordable housing providers include mortgage or credit counseling in what they offer clients. The Academy expands the traditional role of this counseling by sharing information with its counselors in any areas where an individual is struggling. The Academy sessions provide a rich source of information for the counselor and other staff to use in their team approach to an applicant. In addition, the Academy model is open to tutoring sessions on the more challenging topics after the 12 classes are completed. Most often these are individual meetings but they easily convert to small group sessions. |
