The Carpenter Society was founded in 1985 to help low income families improve their quality of life and create safe neighborhoods through homeownership. We believe that homeownership encourages stability and fosters personal pride, enabling families to develop community, improve their lifestyle, and establish roots for the benefit of themselves and future generations. To do this the Society focuses on three interrelated functions: housing development, homeowner education, and community organizing. Our core mission is to target abandoned homes for acquisition, renovation and sale to neighborhood families. Since 1985 we have been actively engaged in the production and rehabilitation of affordable housing for sale and rent to low and moderate income families in the City of Camden. | |
